December 13 (Renewables Now) - EDF Renewables North America has signed a multi-year framework agreement with units of Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives Inc (NASDAQ:IEA) for the construction of more than 1,350 MW of US wind farms through 2021.

The deal was inked with IEA’s White Construction Inc and IEA Constructors Inc. The infrastructure builder will enter into exclusive talks with EDF Renewables with the intention of realising a significant portion of the latter’s North American wind portfolio through 2021, a press statement says.

The new partnership covers the construction of turbine access roads and the actual wind parks, as well as public road maintenance and repairs, and wind turbine and medium-voltage collection system installations, among other services.

“This award contributes significantly to the core growth of our renewable energy business and provides IEA with stronger visibility going forward,” commented JP Roehm, CEO of IEA.
