February 21 (Renewables Now) - US solar company Dynamic Energy Solutions LLC on Thursday said it has completed the construction of a 1.4-MW ground-mounted solar system at a farm on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts.
The solar facility represents phase two of the project on Bartlett's Farm. Phase one included a 595-kW solar array that Dynamic Energy installed on the property in 2016.
The two solar systems produce about 2.6 million kWh of power a year and save 2,100 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually. The project covers 100% of the farm's power needs.
"Dynamic has been a strong partner for us, in support of our efforts to generate clean and sustainable sources of energy for the farm. Now this includes the island's electric grid and will help reduce the need for a third undersea cable," Bartlett's Farm president, John Bartlett, commented.
