Dupont Apollo, China Everbright install 1.3 MW rooftop solar system in China
(ADPnews) - Dec 9, 2010 - Dupont Apollo, a unit of US chemicals major Dupont (NYSE:DD), and clean energy firm China Everbright International (HKG:0257) today said they have completed a 1.3 MW rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system in China.
The installation covers 23,000 sq ft (2,100 sq m) on the roof of the thin-film PV module maker Dupont Apollo's manufacturing plant in Shenzhen. It includes 13,000 thin-film Dupont Apollo solar modules, which can produce 1.5 million kWh of energy and offset carbon dioxide emissions of 1,480 tonnes per year, according to Dupont Apollo.
Construction of the system started in July. It is expected to be in operation for 25 years.
The project is deemed the biggest single-structure thin-film PV rooftop system in China so far, Dupont Apollo added.
