Dulas lands 2.5-MW solar job in England

Sep 17, 2013 - UK green energy services provider Dulas Ltd said Friday it had won a GBP-4.3-million (USD 7m/EUR 5m) deal to install a 2.5-MW solar system for housing association First Wessex.

Dulas with equip with photovoltaic (PV) panels up to 1,000 of First Wessex’s housing facilities in southern England. Once operational, the whole installation is estimated to generate cost savings of between GBP 75 and GBP 150 per year to First Wessex tenants. In addition, it will offset about 1,250 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually, the developer calculates. The owner of the PV capacity will repay the initial investment within a 12-year period.

The contract was signed for a term of two years and starts in November. It will open several job positions for local youngsters who are not in education, Dulas said.
