Danish Danfoss Solar Inverters to boost capacity to 3.5 GW in 2011
(ADPnews) - Sep 13, 2010 - Danfoss Solar Inverters AS, part of Danish industrial group Danfoss AS, said Monday it would raise its capacity to 3.5 GW in 2011, seeking to meet growing demand for string inverters.
The company said it may further double the figure for a few months, when needed. As part of the plan, it will lift capacity to 1.5 GW by the end of this year.
Logistics and production will be relocated to Danfoss' headquarters in Nordborg, southern Denmark, as the company's supply chain facilities in Sonderborg and Grasten are becoming too small for its plans. The relocation will be completed by the end of 2010, with assembly in the new facilities seen to commence in the first three months of 2011.
At the same time, Danfoss Solar Inverters announced that it had named Morten Buhl Sorensen managing director with effect from October 1.
