October 16 (Renewables Now) - Czech solar developer Solek Group has completed the work on the 2.99-MWp Villaseca project and connected the solar photovoltaic (PV) park to the grid in the Chilean region of Maule, it said Friday.

The project was developed under the Chilean small-scale distributed generation programme, locally known as PMGD, which regulates schemes of up to 9 MW and in which Solek specialises.

CarbonFree Chile SpA, of Canada’s CarbonFree Technology Inc, will operate the Villaseca solar park.

For Solek, Villaseca is the fourth finalised project in Chile. The Czech company plans to build a fleet of up to 250 MW in the South American country in the next several years.
