November 19 (Renewables Now) - British commercial rooftop solar company Custom Solar Ltd said on Thursday that it has secured a new GBP-4.8-million (USD 6.5m/EUR 5.7m) loan from Virgin Money, which will enable it to seize opportunities for larger designs and installations for corporate and public sector clients.

"We are extremely pleased with the facility that will now be in place with Virgin Money. This will support and accelerate our ever-growing 200-MW pipeline of solar projects that the company is securing," Custom Solar CEO Gary Sucharewycz said.

Based in Chesterfield, in the UK's Midlands region, Custom Solar is currently in charge of fitting 21,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels for a 6.5-MWp solar system at the Port of Hull for which it won a contract with port operator Associated British Ports in 2019.

The success of this and other projects has created opportunities for further growth, Custom Solar said.

The solar PV developer and installer counts Amazon, Morrisons, Natwest, Porsche and Portsmouth City Council amongst its clients.
