Cupertino breaks ground on 1.3 MW PV project in Silicon Valley
(ADPnews) - Dec 2, 2010 - California-based engineering and construction firm Cupertino Electric Inc on Tuesday kicked off construction of a 1.26 MW photovoltaic (PV) project at the Silicon Valley school district.
The company will roll out two ground-mounted solar systems ordered by the Mountain View and Los Altos High School district. According to plans, a 755 kW installation and 515 kW array will be installed at the Mountain View and Los Alto high schools respectively.
Both installations are calculated to ultimately produce 39.3 million kWh of clean electricity.
The project is anticipated to receive USD 1.6 million (EUR 1.2m) rebates from utility PG&E Corp (NYSE:PCG).
