ZAGREB (Croatia), October 7 (SeeNews) - Croatian equipment supply and engineering company ENSOLX said it is inviting expressions of interest for participation in the development and implementation of a project for construction of a geothermal power plant in Merhatovec, in northern Croatia.

ENSOLX has initiated preliminary works to determine the potential for development, construction and usability of the geothermal power plant, it said in a public call published in local business magazine Lider last week.

The company is inviting potential partners or investors to submit letters of interest by October 15.

The country's first geothermal power plant, the 17.5 MW Velika Ciglena facility, has been operating since 2019 near Bjelovar, in the country's northeastern part.

According to local media reports, a geothermal power plant of 19.9 MW is under development in Legrad, close to the town of Koprivnica, in Croatia's north.
