Croatian power transmission equipment maker Dalekovod [ZSE:DLKV-R-A] is ready to invest 200 million euro ($276.7 million) in the construction of 100 megawatts of wind power facilities, local media reported.
However, to proceed with these investments, Dalekovod needs the relevant location permits, the president of the Dalekovod managing board, Luka Milicic, told news daily Vecernji List (www.vecernji.hr) in a recent interview.
Dalekovod plans to bring on stream by the end of this year 36 megawatts (MW) of wind power capacity at a location near the village of Bruska, in southwest Croatia, Milicic said. Bruska is located near the town of Benkovac in the interior of the Adriatic county of Zadar.
The company launched in January four wind turbines with a combined capacity of 9.2 MW at the Sucevic Brdo location near the village of Gracac, also in the Zadar county, the executive said.
In a filing with the Zagreb bourse in March 2010, Dalekovod said the planned annual output of the Gracac area wind farm was 26 million kilowatthours.
Dalekovod currently operates a wind power portfolio with total capacity of 46 MW, Milicic added.
