Jul 31, 2012 - German solar company Conergy AG (ETR:CGYK) said today US carrot producer Grimmway Enterprises has ordered the delivery of 4,760 photovoltaic (PV) panels for three solar project with a total capacity of 3.4 MW.
The projects will help Grimmway reduce its power consumption by 30% and will save 2,700 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, Conergy said.
The German group said it is expecting a follow-up order for another 2.3 MW of capacity to be installed from Grimmway.
Conergy has worked with the US company before. Last year, it installed a 230 kW solar plant for a Grimmway carrot farm in California.
