Condotte Italy investing 19 mln euro in four HPPs in Macedonia - econ min

SKOPJE (Macedonia) January 14 (SeeNews) - Engineering company Condotte Italy is investing 19 million euro ($20.7 million) in four hydro power plants (HPPs) on the Eshterichka, Kadina and Zrnovska rivers in Macedonia, the economy ministry said.

The HPP on the Eshterichka river is due to start commercial operations this winter, whereas the construction of the other three power plants is at an earlier stage, the economy ministry said in a statement on its website earlier this week.

The ministry did not provide information about the HPPs' capacity.

The investment is made through locally-registered company IMPG Skopje

Condotte Italy's owner and president Duccio Astaldi expressed interest in further investments in proximity to the Cebren and Galiste HPPs and the Skopje-Blace motorway, the ministry added.
