Companhia Albertina crushes 890,000 t of sugar cane in 2011/12 crop year - report
Oct 10, 2011 - Brazil's sugar and ethanol maker Companhia Albertina last week concluded the 2011/2012 sugar cane crop year with 890,000 tonnes of sugar cane crushed, local daily Folha reported.
The volume came 30% below expectations due to unfavourable weather conditions, Folha wrote.
According to the daily, the company has called a new creditors' meeting in order to discuss adjustments in its judicial recovery plan, with the goal of creating better conditions to obtain the capital needed until the next harvest.
Companhia Albertina, located in Sertaozinho, southeastern Sao Paulo state, has been undergoing judicial recovery since November 2008.
