Coillte, ESB Wind Development to develop 27.5 MW Irish wind farm - report
(ADPnews) - Sep 29, 2010 - Irish forestry company Coillte and local wind energy company ESB Wind Development Ltd will build a wind farm with a capacity of 27.5 MW in the east of Ireland, local news service The Irish Times reported today.
The two parties are both 50% owners in the wind project and will invest a total of EUR 55 million (USD 75m).
The wind farm, to be located in County Wicklow, will consist of 11 generators of 2.5 MW each. Its output will suffice to supply with electricity 17,000 homes, according to the companies' estimates. The firms already obtained the planning permission for the power plant.
Ireland is aiming at 40% renewable energies share by 2020.
