CEE acquires 6.6-MW wind farm in Germany

Hamburg-based private equity group CEE said on Tuesday it has taken possession of a 6.6-MW wind farm in Brandenburg, Germany, for an undisclosed sum.

CEE bought the Ludersdorf wind park from project developer European Energy A/S, its second acquisition from the Danish company since April. Following the transaction, CEE’s renewable energy portfolio expanded to about 592 MW.

The 6.6-MW facility consists of two V112 turbines made by Denmark's Vestas (CPH:VWS) with hub height of 140 metres (459 ft). The machines were commissioned in May and are expected to generate enough electricity to meet the demand of about 5,000 local homes annually.

CEE’s unit CEE Operations GmbH is in charge of the wind park’s commercial operations.

As announced in April, CEE acquired a repowered 27.6-MW wind park near the municipality of Gross Pankow in Brandenburg from European Energy A/S and Berlin-based Green Wind Energy GmbH. The private equity firm expects its renewable energy plants to have a combined power output of about 930,000 MWh for 2017.
