German solar and wind parks operator Capital Stage AG (ETR:CAP) has acquired a 6.4-MW onshore wind park in Germany, bringing its overall wind capacity to more than 130 MW.
The wind park is located in Lower Saxony and was purchased from the project developer, Bremen-based Energiekontor AG, Capital Stage said today. It is a re-powering project, consisting of two Senvion turbines that are expected to be fully running by the end of December 2016.
Capital Stage's investment, including debt financing on the project level, amounts to about EUR 13.5 million (USD 15m). The wind park will receive a feed-in tariff (FiT) of EUR 0.084 per kWh for 20 years, adjusted for expenses related to direct marketing of electricity.
This is not the first wind park that Capital Stage buys from Energiekontor. A subsidiary of the latter will provide the commercial and technical management of the newly acquired facility.
Including the latest acquisition, Capital Stage operates more than 600 MW of wind and solar capacity.
Last week, the company's stockholders approved a capital hike that is linked to Capital Stage's voluntary takeover offer for local peer Chorus Clean Energy AG (FRA:CU1).
