December 3 (Renewables Now) - Canada's Valent Low-Carbon Technologies, which develops renewable fuels market-enabling solutions, last week announced it has secured CAD 30 million (USD 22.8m/EUR 20.7m) from investors.

The Kensington Private Equity Fund, part of Canadian alternative asset investor Kensington Capital Partners Limited, and private investment company CFFI Ventures Inc were among the investors.

The company, which has operations in Alberta, Ontario, New York as well as in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, focuses on renewable jet/diesel fuel, hydrogen distribution, fuel desulphurisation and related-enabling process technologies.

The company's management team has extensive experience in cleantech commercialisation, having raised and overseen capital investments of CAD 250 million across six Canada-based clean technology companies over a decade, Valent said.
