Canada-based Day4 Energy Inc said it has signed a deal with Slovenian photovoltaic panels maker Enersis for a turnkey manufacturing technology solution for Day4 Energy branded products for the rapidly growing Eastern European market.
“At current market prices and full capacity utilization the 25 MW line is expected to provide approximately 1.2 million euro ($1.45 million) per year in royalty revenue to Day4,” it said in a statement.
Day4 Energy Inc (www.day4energy.com), headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia, is a supplier of high performance, cost-effective solar electric solutions.
The deal for production of photovoltaic (PV) cells and PV modules is the first in a series of licensing agreements that Day4 Energy expects will add significant revenue from 2011 onward, the company president, George Rubin, said in the statement.
“Eastern Europe has tremendous growth potential and is already the third largest market on the continent behind Italy and Germany. We are looking forward to working with Day4 in this new venture to address this unique and exciting opportunity,” Enersis’s director, Andrej Hanzic, said in the same statement.
Enersis was established in 2007.
