Bulgaria’s Balkan Energy To Build 70 MW Wind Farm - Bulgarian Industrial Association
SOFIA (Bulgaria), March 13 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian energy company Balkan Energy will build a 70 megawatt (MW) wind park in the northeast of the country, the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) said on Friday.
The construction of the park, to be located in the village of Dobrin, near the Black Sea port city of Varna, is expected to start this year, BIA said in a statement, giving no details on the timeframe or size of the investment.
The wind farm will consist of 23 wind turbines, BIA said.
Industry officials estimate the cost of one megawatt installed capacity of wind energy at around 1.5 million euro ($1.91 million).
Wind power projects are the fastest growing energy sector in the world. Wind energy use in southeast Europe still lags considerably behind western Europe but the region is seen as increasingly attractive by investors in this sector.
