Bulgarian Car Battery Maker MonBat 2008 Net Profit Rises 53.4% - Table

Bulgarian blue-chip car battery maker MonBat said its 2008 net profit rose 53.4% to 26.7 million levs ($17.4 million/13.6 million euro), as sales increased by 25.7%.

Following are figures from MonBat's income statement sent to the Bulgarian Stock Exchange late on Friday (in million levs):

MonBat is majority-owned by Bulgarian lubricants producer Prista Oil.

Shares of the company, part of the benchmark SOFIX index of the Sofia bourse, fell 0.78% to 4.44 levs closing on Friday.
