Bulgarian anti-trust watchdog clears Alfa Energy Ka acquisition
Bulgaria's anti-trust regulator on Thursday gave the go-ahead to Sofia-based Rekolta 2011, UK-based Diamond Solar Europe and Alfa Energy Holding to acquire joint control over solar projects developer Alfa Energy Ka.
Market analysis showed that introduction of new shareholders in Alfa Energy Holding’s wholly-owned subsidiary Alfa Energy Ka would not hinder the competition on the local market, the Commission for Protection of Competition said in a statement.
The two companies, acquiring stakes in Alfa Energy Ka, aim to enter Bulgarian electricity generation and sales market, the statement added.
Rekolta 2011, which was established at the end of last year, has no commercial activity yet, while Diamond Solar Europe is a holding structure, which acquires and manages companies engaged in the energy sector on behalf of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation.
