January 14 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian electrical equipment manufacturer WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3) announced today it will build 180.6 MW of wind parks for local power producer Aliança Geracao de Energia SA.

WEG will supply 43 wind turbines of 4.2 MW each for the four projects. The manufacturer is also in charge of the construction of the wind farms, including the logistics, assembly and commissioning, and the operation and maintenance (O&M).

Deliveries of the wind turbines are scheduled to commence in 2021 and extend into the following year. The company estimates that the contract will generate revenues of approximately BRL 590 million (USD 142.3m/EUR 127.8m).

This is not WEG's first deal with Alianca. In 2015, the former supplied wind turbines for the 98.7-MW Santo Inacio Wind Complex.
