Brazil's Techno-Cells to install USD 106.8m PV modules plant in Espirito Santo
Sep 25, 2013 - Brazilian solar panels producer Techno-Cells plans to install a BRL-235-million (USD 106.8m/EUR 79.3m) photovoltaic (PV) modules plant in Colatina, southeastern Espirito Santo state.
The plant's construction will begin in 2014 and will be completed by the end of the year. The facility will have an annual capacity of 95 MW producing 250-W modules.
According to the company's economist Wesley Clare, Techno-Cells has chosen Espirito Santo due to the its good geographic location, from where the production can be exported to Brazil's Northeast and Southeast, and due to the tax incentives agreed with the local government.
Techno-Cells offers photovoltaic cells, panels for systems installation on-grid and off-grid, ventilation and refrigeration systems, pump solutions, irrigation and milling solutions for rural areas, and also energy audit and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services.
