Brazil's Renova Energia sells 73.7 MWa at Aug 23 reserve auction
Aug 26, 2013 - Brazilian renewable energy developer Renova Energia (SAO:RNEW11) sold 73.7 average MW (MWa) to be generated by nine wind power plants at the government's reserve auction on August 23, 2013.
The nine parks have combined installed capacity of 159 MW and are located in the northeastern Bahia state. The auction, which was exclusively for wind power projects, foresees 20-year contracts for supply starting as of September 1, 2015.
Renova has an installed capacity of 1,449 MW, of which 1,407 MW generated by wind plants and 41.8 MW by small hydroelectric power plants (HPPs).
