Brazil's Centre-South hydrous ethanol sales jump 5.5% in June

July 11 (Renewables Now) - Brazil's Centre-South ethanol producers sold 1.80 billion litres (475 million gallons) of hydrous ethanol in June, an improvement of 5.51% year-on-year.

Anhydrous ethanol sales amounted to 696.34 million litres, local sugarcane industry association Unica said on Wednesday.

In all, total ethanol sales reached 2.68 billion litres for the last month, with 185.05 million litres intended for export and 2.50 billion litres for the domestic market.

Production in the last 15 days of June for hydrous and anhydrous ethanol was of 1.52 billion litres and 814.92 million litres, respectively. Corn ethanol accounted for 42.85 million litres.

From the start of the sugarcane harvest, the total volume of ethanol produced in the country's Centre-South region was 10.64 billion litres, of which 7.40 billion were hydrous and 3.23 billion anhydrous, Unica noted.
