Brazilian power utility Tractebel Energia (BVMF:TBLE3) has hired a consultancy to evaluate the sale of the stake it holds in the special purpose companies responsible for 63.4 MW of wind and small hydro capacity.
According to the announcement, made on Monday, the company's goal is to optimise its power asset portfolio. It wants to focus on assets that offer greater synergies.
The three projects that might be sold include two wind farms and a small hydropower plant (HPP). The 25.6-MW Beberibe wind farm and the 18-MW Pedra do Sal wind farm are located in the states of Ceara and Piaui, respectively, while the 19.8-MW small HPP Areia Branca is in Minas Gerais state.
The closing of this transaction will be subject to the achievement of favorable terms of sale by the company and authorities related to the issue, Tractebel said.
