Brazil hydrous ethanol sales jump 31.34% Y/Y in Jul 2013

Aug 14, 2013 - Brazil hydrous ethanol sales jumped by 31.34% year-on-year to 1.21 billion litres (266.1m gallons) in July 2013, according to data of the Brazilian sugarcane industry association (Unica) released on Monday.

Unica explained the growth with the price of the hydrous ethanol, which is by 65% lower in comparison with petrol (gasoline) in Sao Paulo and other state capitals.

When compared to June 2013, hydrous ethanol sales in the country increased by 18.56%, Unica calculated.
