Brazil greenlights 562.5 MW of green projects from Dec 18 auction

March 14 (Renewables Now) - Brazil's power sector regulator Aneel approved on Tuesday 21 green projects with a combined capacity of 562.5 MW from the A-4 energy auction held on December 18, 2017.

Overall, 25 schemes were contracted during the tender with power supply scheduled to being on January 1, 2021. Due to pending documentation, Aneel is withholding the approvals for the remaining four projects belonging to the Solar do Sertao Consortium.

The tender awarded more than 674.5 MW of power capacity at an average price of BRL 144.51 per MWh (USD 44.34/EUR 35.78), Aneel noted.
