Brazil CPFL Renovaveis books USD 2.7m profit in H1 2012
Aug 3, 2012 - Brazilian green energy company CPFL Energias Renovaveis yesterday reported a consolidated net profit of BRL 5.5 million (USD 2.7m/EUR 2.2m) for the first half of 2012.
The company was created last year via the merger of the renewable assets of Brazil's power firm CPFL Energia (SAO:CPFE3) and local alternative energy investment player ERSA.
CPFL Renovaveis's net revenue for the period between January and June totalled BRL 285.8 million.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) came in at BRL 171.4 million, while EBITDA margin stood at 60%.
At the end of June, the company's total debt was BRL 3.854 billion, while available cash stood at BRL 777.5 million.
CPFL Renovaveis closed the first half of this year with an installed capacity of 4.8 GW.
