Brazil Centre-South produces 13.77bn l ethanol until Sep 1

Sep 13, 2011 - The ethanol production of Brazil's largest sugar cane producing region Centre-South totalled 13.77 billion litres (3.029 billion gallons) in the period from April 1 to September 1, 2011.

The anhydrous ethanol output reached 5.23 billion, while the hydrous ethanol production was 8.54 billion litres, data of the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) showed yesterday.

The crushed sugar cane came in at 338.14 million tonnes in the period.

Brazil's sugar cane crop season starts on April 1 and ends on March 31 the next year.
