Brazil BNDES clears USD 143.6m bridge loan for Renova's 386-MW wind projects
Dec 19, 2012 - Brazil's National Social and Economic Development Bank (BNDES) said yesterday it approved a BRL 300 million (USD 143.6m/EUR 108.4m) bridge loan for the construction of 15 wind park projects with a combined 386 MW capacity to be developed by local green energy player Renova Energia (SAO:RNEW11).
The ventures, which will be built in northeastern Bahia state, are budgeted at a total BRL 1.4 billion, including the installation of the associated transmission line.
The facilities are planned to be launched along the next two years.
BNDES' loans disbursed for wind power projects are seen to close 2012 at approximately BRL 2.4 billion, compared with BRL 2.3 billion extended last year and BRL 808 million in 2010, the bank pointed out.
