Brazil Bioenergy registers 2,311 MW for A-5 auction
Jun 4, 2014 - Brazilian renewable energy developer Bioenergy has registered 85 wind and solar power projects with a combined capacity of 2,311 MW for Brazil's A-5 energy auction, scheduled for September 12.
The projects require prices of at least BRL 230 (USD 100.9/EUR 74.1) per MWh of solar power and BRL 130 for wind, Bioenergy's president, Sergio Marques, said Tuesday.
The company will also compete at the A-3 auction this Friday, with 12 wind projects of 347 MW located in Maranhao state.
Bioenergy started operations on the power market in 2011 with its 14.4-MW Miassaba 2 wind park, in Rio Grande do Norte state. In 2012, the company launched the 14.4-MW Aratua 1 wind plant and diversified its activities with solar power development.
