Bosnia's Serb Republic to receive 10 mln euro German energy efficiency grant

Source: Green for Growth Fund

BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 12 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Serb Republic government said on Thursday it would use a 10 million euro ($11 million) grant from Germany's development bank KfW to finance a project for increasing the energy efficiency of public buildings.

The project, which will focus primarily on school and pre-school buildings, aims to decrease energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions, the Bosnian entity's government said in a press release.

The grant funding also aims to improve the capacity of institutions responsible for boosting energy efficiency.

The Serb Republic government will co-finance 15% of the project costs in the amount of 1.5 million euro.

The project is planned to be completed by 2023.

The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
