Bosnia’s Natron Hayat applies for environmental permit for cogeneration project

SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 6 (SeeNews) – Bosnian pulp and paper producer Natron Hayat has applied for an environmental permit to install a 35-megawatts (MW) biomass-fired boiler and an 8.1 Mwel steam turbine to replace the existing ones, the environment ministry of the Bosnian Federation said.

The application will be opened for public comments and suggestions for 15 days starting from January 31 when it was published on the environment ministry’s website, the ministry said in a statement last week.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said in December it is lending 10 million euro ($13.3 million) to Natron Hayat for the modernisation of the company's cogeneration unit.
