Bosnia’s Elektroprivreda HZ HB Awards 2.9 Mln Euro Contracts for Equipment Supply – Media

Bosnian state-controlled power utility Elektroprivreda HZ HB has awarded four contracts worth a combined 2.9 million euro ($4.3 million) for supply of electrical equipment, industry media reported.

The equipment is destined for the 430-megawatt (MW) Capljina pumped-storage project, one of Bosnia’s largest hydroelectric plants, global hydro power newswire www.hydroworld.com reported on Monday.

Croatian joint venture company Dalekovod/ABB signed a 1.1 million euro deal with the utility to supply 220-kilovolt cables.

Zagreb-based EnergoControl signed an 879,860 euro contract to supply an excitation system and a 702,898 euro contract to supply a 35-kilovolt switchgear, the newswire said.

A consortium of Croatia’s Koncar Montazni Inzenjering and Austria’s Fleck Elektroinstallationen GmbH was awarded a 246,550 euro contract to supply 220-kilovolt measuring transformers and surge arrestors.

Elektroprivreda HZ HB, the smallest of Bosnia's three state-owned power utilities, is based in the Muslim-Croat Federation. The country's largest power utility is Elektroprivreda BiH, also based in the Federation, which together with the Serb Republic forms war-divided Bosnia of around four million people. Elektroprivreda RS is the power utility of the Serb Republic.

Elektroprivreda HZ HB manages six hydro power plants with a total installed capacity of 792 megawatts.
