UK solar developer Boom Power today said it has obtained planning permission for its 49.9-MW Kenley solar farm in East Yorkshire, England.
The solar power plant will be installed on 94 hectares (232 acres) of land near Hull, with construction expected to start in the middle of 2023. Timelines will be determined by the grid connection dates, according to the announcement.
Boom is also developing a 400-MW solar project, named East Yorkshire solar farm, in the region, which due its size is a National Significant Infrastructure Project. The statutory consultation for this large scheme will commence in the new year, the developer said.
Boom has now secured three planning approvals this year. In October, it announced it had been given the green light for two solar farms with a combined capacity of some 90 MW in the councils of Selby District and Kirklees in Yorkshire.
