Bolzano approves up to 80% provincial incentives for biogas plants
Aug 27, 2013 - Italy's Bolzano province has approved new criteria to grant incentives for construction and expansion of biogas plants, which entail provincial funding for up to 80% of the financing for small companies and up to 70% of the funding for medium-sized enterprises.
Bolzano adopted the new criteria to comply with the EU directives, the province said in a statement on Monday.
The new legislation also describes the ways to file requests for funding, the granting and monitoring of the funds utilisation, and cases in which the incentives can be taken back.
The province has interest in keeping biogas plants as they produce energy from manure, apart from the biogas resources being part of the provincial strategy to promote the use of alternative energy, Bolzano province president Luis Durnwalder said.
