Blue Sphere purchases land for 5.2-MW N Carolina waste-to-energy plant

Dec 14, 2012 - Israel-based clean tech firm Blue Sphere Corp (OTCBB:BLSP) yesterday said it had bought a property for its 5.2-MW waste-to-energy facility in North Carolina, taking the final step towards the implementation of the project.

The company had previously secured a 15-year power purchase agreement, feedstock supply with a tipping fee and compost off-take, an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) provider and suitable technology for the project.

After acquiring the land where to build the plant, the company now expects to start construction in the coming quarter, Blue Sphere's chief executive Shlomi Palas said. He added the company was also close to implementing its 3.2-MW waste-to-energy project in Rhode Island.
