March 1 (Renewables Now) - German firm Blue Elephant Energy AG (BEE) is the new owner of a 9.23-MW operational wind farm in the southwestern German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The deal boosts the Hamburg-based solar and wind farm operator's portfolio in Germany to over 60 MW, it said in a press release on Wednesday. The name of the vendor and financial details on the purchase were not provided.

The acquired plant is powered by three V112-3.0 MW wind turbines, which have been generating electricity since 2014.

BEE is focused on the acquisition and operation of renewable energy projects, mostly wind and solar. Following this latest acquisition, BEE has over 252 MW of assets in its portfolio. In January, the company acquired a 20-MW wind park in Italy from Norway-based private company European Energy Group.
