BlackRock sells 200,000 Vestas shares, cuts stake to 4.94%
Oct 17, 2014 - US investment manager BlackRock Inc (NYSE:BLK) has sold about 200,000 shares of Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) since June 2014, cutting its stake to 4.94%.
Vestas said in a statement yesterday that BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Ltd had informed it about a reduction in BlackRock’s shareholding to 11,071,328 shares. Four months ago, the Danish company reported that the US investor had raised its interest in it to 11,276,405 shares, corresponding to a 5.03% stake. Vestas did not give any further information.
In early October, the Danish firm said that its contract to supply 254 MW of wind turbines for Brazilian projects of CPFL Renovaveis (BVMF:CPRE3) had been cancelled due to changes to local legislation. It had previously agreed to deliver 127 units of V100-2.0 MW wind turbines for projects developed by CPFL Renovaveis in the northeastern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte.
