Sep 1, 2011 - Brazilian renewable energy generation company Bioenergy received a BRL 74.2 million (USD 46.7m/EUR 32.7m) loan from the Brazilian National Social and Economic Development Bank (BNDES) for the acquisition of wind turbines and electrical equipment.
The transfer was made immediately, in equal parts, by local banks Itau BBA and Votorantim.
The funds account for 63% of the total investments in the company's first two wind parks in Rio Grande do Norte state.
The loan will be used to for the purchase of the first 18 of a total 90 wind turbines contracted from General Electric (NYSE:GE).
