UK renewable energy investor Belltown Power today announced the purchase of the 24.6-MW Tirgwynt wind farm in Wales that is currently under construction.
The firm has acquired the developer of the project, Awel Newydd Cyf, from RDC Partners. The 12-turbine facility, which has been developed jointly with local farmers, is due to be fully commissioned by the end of 2016. It is expected to generate enough electricity for more than 13,000 average homes.
Belltown did not say how much it paid for the latest addition to its portfolio. The acquisition increases the number of sites in the portfolio to 20, representing a combined capacity of more than 140 MW across wind, solar and hydro technologies.
