March 31 (Renewables Now) - Germany’s Belectric Solar and Battery GmbH has completed a 3.42-MWp solar plant for Rolls-Royce (LON:RR) in Bristol, UK, and will build 20 MW of photovoltaic (PV) parks in France.

The solar plant builder said Thursday the rooftop PV facility for Rolls-Royce will generate more than 3 million kWh of electricity per year for the luxury-car and aero engine manufacturer’s defence aerospace production plant. The output, expected to be enough to supply over 900 average UK homes, will be sold under a 25-year power purcgase agreement.

Belectric will provide operation and maintenance services to the PV plant.

The German firm said in a separate press release that it has been selected in a government tender to serve as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company for three solar projects in France with a total capacity of 20 MW. The facilities will use equipment provided by Germany-based companies Jurchen Technology and PADCON.

Belectric noted it was working to enhance its operations on the French EPC market with “competitive offers” as part of its plan to lift the number of projects it has developed.
