German renewables company BayWa r.e. AG has received an order to supply solar modules for a 214-MWp solar complex that will be built in the Eifel region in western Germany.
The project, developed by German solar company Enovos Renewables GmbH and its partners, consists of 11 solar plants and BayWa r.e. will deliver all 380,000 modules for the complex.
Construction of the facilities will start next June with commissioning planned for the end of 2023, BayWa r.e. said on Monday. Once operational, the complex is expected to supply about 60,000 households with green power.
German solar company SE (Schoenergie) is acting as a general contractor responsible for the planning and construction of the plants.
The electricity from the eleven solar systems will be fed into the high-voltage grid directly and the facilities will be designed in a way that will allow the installation of large-scale energy storage systems in the future.
