December 20 (Renewables Now) - The renewables unit of German diversified group BayWa AG (ETR:BYW6) said on Thursday it has divested the 18.45-MW Wathegar 2 wind farm in Scotland.

BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH has sold the asset to the British Strategic Investment Fund LP (BSIF), which is managed by London-based Gresham House Asset Management. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

The wind farm in question consists of nine 2.05-MW Senvion turbines and is located close to the Wathegar 1 wind park also managed by Gresham House. Wayne Cranstone, investment director at Gresham House New Energy Ltd, commented that both plants enjoy high capacity factors typical of north east Scotland.

“In 2019, we want to further expand our UK wind and solar development business and look forward to new and interesting projects in the New Year,” commented Katy Hogg, co-head of wind energy projects at BayWa r.e.
