BayWa r.e. nabs O&M deal for 61-MW UK solar portfolio

January 14 (Renewables Now) - BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH has bagged a new contract to operate and maintain 61.1 MW of solar power generating capacity in the UK on behalf of Octopus Investments.

Under the terms of the deal, BayWa r.e. will service 13 solar farms in the UK, performing all electrical and non-electrical tasks needed for plant management and performance optimisation of the facilities, it said in a statement on Monday.

In May 2018, the two companies entered into an agreement for BayWa r.e. to deliver technical and commercial asset management services for 148.5 MW of wind parks in the UK. The firm’s serviced portfolio now includes over 1.9 GW of utility-scale projects.

“BayWa r.e. is now actively involved in around 20% of our renewable energy portfolio, and we look forward to further developing our fruitful working relationship in the coming year," commented Matt Setchell, Head of Energy Investments at Octopus.
