BayWa re nabs asset management deal for 148.5 MW of UK wind farms

June 12 (Renewables Now) - BayWa re renewable energy GmbH said on Monday it has won a tender to deliver technical and commercial asset management services for 148.5 MW of wind parks in the UK.

The contract covers four wind farms owned by UK investment fund manager Octopus Investments, the largest one of which is the 109-MW Beinneun plant in Scotland. Within the scope of the deal are the provision of day-to-day technical and commercial management solutions, monitoring of technical faults, visual inspections, data analysis and technical reporting.

BayWa re already operates the 29.7-MW Fraisthorpe wind farm for Octopus. The latter bought the nine-turbine facility near Bridlington, England, from BayWa re in 2016.

The renewables unit of German diversified group BayWa AG (ETR:BYW6) manages more than 1.3 GW of renewable energy assets in the UK. Worldwide, the company has over 4.5 GW of assets under operations management for third parties, it said.
