Avista commits to 100% clean power supply by 2045

April 19 (Renewables Now) - US energy company Avista Corp (NYSE:AVA) announced on Thursday its goal to have a carbon-neutral supply of electricity by the end of 2027 and switch to 100% clean power by 2045.

The Spokane-based energy company said it had carried out two solar and one wind project in its home state of Washington over the past three years. It has been a provider of clean electricity from hydropower resources since its founding in 1889. In addition, Avista has set up an energy efficiency programme for its customers and built infrastructure for natural gas-fuelled and electric vehicles (EVs).

The company has committed to continue with investments in renewable energy resources, research and development, as well as smarter grid solutions to support its target.
