Austrian WEB Windenergie opens 14.4 MW wind park in France

(SeeNews) – Oct 12, 2012 – Austrian renewable energy specialist WEB Windenergie AG said on Tuesday it had opened a new wind park with a total capacity of 14.4 MW in Plaine de l'Artois, in southwestern France.

The park is expected to produce 30 million KWh of clean electricity per year, enough to cover the needs of around 11,000 households, WEB Windenergie estimated. It consists of 18 wind turbines with a capacity of 0.8 MW each, which were supplied by German wind turbine maker Enercon.

The project was jointly completed by WEB Windenergie, Enercon and local French municipalities.

The new wind farm, which is the second facility of WEB Windenergie in France, doubled the company's capacity in the country. France is one of the four foreign markets, on which the Austrian company is presented.
