Austrian Unigea plans 1,200 MW of wind power capacity in Greece - report

Nov 23, 2011 - Austrian wind and solar project developer Unigea Erneuerbare Energien GmbH is to build 1,200 MW of wind power projects in Greece, daily Der Standard said, citing CEO Hannes Schoeckler.

The company intends to pour over EUR 600 million (USD 803m) in the southeastern European country and is seeking partners for the planned projects, the report said.

Some 400 MW of wind power capacity have already been given the go-ahead and Unigea anticipates to get construction approval by the middle of 2012. The wind farms are seen to come on stream in 2014-2015.
